My twin daughters are 6 and have hearing loss. In our latest NDIS application I requested funding so that my daughters could access The Magic Coat Program and have a one on one session with Di. I felt that the one on one session was needed so that Di could ensure the session was suited to my daughters specific needs. It also allowed the session to take place at our home where my children are most comfortable ensuring they got the most out of the session.
The session with Di was amazing. She had a wonderful rapport with my children and was very friendly, caring and responsive to their need, changing the session with each girl as needed. They loved the session with Di so much that they are already asking when she can come back again. Our session focused on worries and how to deal with worries.
When doing the session I found that my daughters revealed worries that I had not known about. She then helped them to put their worries into perspective and brainstormed with them what would help their worries lessen. This has been an amazing strategy that has been really helping them, particularly one daughter who suffers with anxiety. I now have a strategy to use with her to help understand her worries and a way to help her overcome them.
I found the session to be extremely beneficial for my daughters and would highly recommend The Magic Coat Program to all parents for their children. We look forward to doing another session with Di soon.
